Tree care starts at the time of selecting a tree and the actions taken to nurture its growth that will impact on its shape, strength and probably its life span. Some common factors to be considered when selecting and planting trees are not to plant them over and under utility lines, not to plant too close to buildings and to plant them on the eastern side of a building rather than the western side to help block strong afternoon sunlight.
We at Dasun’s House Plants will ensure that the right trees are planted at the right places by going through a process of assessment including identifying the purpose the tree is to serve, considering site limitations, site location and climate in the area, soil conditions and height and spread when the tree matures.
Trees for landscaping can be ordered from the selection in our nurseries that include bare root seedlings, root balled trees and potted trees. We guarantee that any size of tree provided from our nursery will be healthy and the trunks and branches free of insects and damage. Potted plants will not have encircling roots, root balls will be of adequate size to support the plant and will be firm to the touch and seedlings will have many moist roots. Proper procedures will be followed when planting the trees to ensure healthy growth. Guidelines will be provided for maintenance and will include mulching, materials to be used for mulching, how to mulch, importance of watering correctly, how much water to use and when. Pruning, the other important aspect of tree maintenance will be done as and when needed and the frequency and objective of pruning will depend on the type of tree. We can also be consulted to treat pest and disease problems.
Remember trees are for a lifetime and it pays to devote time to selecting and caring for them.
